The logic of the concrete volume calculation
The concrete required is the volume of the element to be poured: width × length × thickness. When you enter the thickness in centimetres, the tool converts it to metres (e.g. 15 cm = 0.15 m). For a floor 10 m wide, 12 m long and 15 cm thick, the calculation is 10 × 12 × 0.15 = 18 m³. Adding 5% wastage gives an order quantity of about 19 m³, i.e. 2 mixer trucks of 10 m³.
For columns, section dimensions are entered in centimetres and height in metres, and the result is multiplied by the count. For beams and shear walls, total length is taken in metres and width and height in centimetres.

The table gives approximate values based on a C25/30 reference mix; aggregate proportions are given relative to the total mass of the mix. In Bodrum Beton production, mix proportions are designed for each project in our laboratory.
About the concrete calculation
How much does 1 m³ of concrete weigh?
Fresh normal-weight concrete weighs about 2,400 kg/m³. So 10 m³ of concrete is roughly 24 tonnes. For lightweight concrete this figure drops to 800–1,800 kg/m³.
How many m³ of concrete does a mixer truck carry?
The average capacity we base deliveries on is 10 m³. Smaller-volume trucks can also be used for small pours; our sales team plans the most suitable vehicles for each project.
Why is a wastage allowance added to the calculation?
Because of formwork leakage, uneven ground and levelling losses, the concrete consumed in a pour is always more than the theoretical volume. The calculator therefore adds a 5% wastage allowance.
Who decides the concrete class?
The concrete class and exposure class are specified in the structural design. The calculator’s suggestion is preliminary information only; the final mix is confirmed by your design and our laboratory assessment.
Is a concrete pump needed?
The need for a pump depends on access to the pour point, floor height and site conditions, so it is decided after a site survey. Our delivery team assesses the site and agrees the suitable pump type and plan with you.
